Two 18-year-old boys were remanded in prison custody by
Magistrate Court sitting in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, for alleged
stabbing another boy to death at night club.
Chukwuma
Matthew, a sales boy, and Mohammed Ibiyomi, a businessman, allegedly
stabbed one Isah Musa to death with a knife at a night club and liable
to culpable homicide.
The suspects pleaded not guilty to the
charge of Criminal Conspiracy and Culpable Homicide. However, the First
Information Report (FIR) read by the Prosecuting Police Officer, C.S.
Ayabatu, explained that Matthew of Sarkin-Noma area
and Ibiyomi of
Angwar Kura Street, all in Lokoja, allegedly committed the offence on
May 24.
According to the report, while the accused and others
were clubbing at Olympic Hotel, Lokoja, one OJo (aka) 2face, surname
unknown, conspired with a group of boys and stabbed the deceased with a
knife on his neck.
The Prosecution Police Officer said Isah was
rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja, where he later died as a
result of the injuries he sustained, informing that investigation led to
the arrest of the accused while others were at large.
He told
the court that investigation into the matter was ongoing and objected to
admitting the accused to bail, while other accused persons were still
at large.
The case was adjourned till July 27, for mention.
