and Friends TV show anchor, Olayinka Olukunga all commended the initiative by

timely a timely intervention in the life of the Nigerian child in the 21st
century learning..
According to Akerele, what Etisalat
has done will revolutionize education in Nigeria, adding that, “The offering is
very valuable, coming at N28,000 for the tablet, whereas the cost of past
question papers and a lesson teacher would be almost N300,000 per child, per
annum,”.
With the believe that the device
will help parents and guardians in child upbringing, she said, “Children need
to be encouraged to channel the time and energy spent on the internet
positively for which I commend Etisalat for coming up with this product.
Parents and guardians are aware that children and wards must go online and
having a way to control the content they view and empower them with devices
such as this is really praiseworthy,”.
Also speaking, the President of
Consumer Advocacy Foundation of Nigeria, Salako stated that the product, highly
inventive and well thought through from Etisalat was coming at a time when the
Nigerian child needed it the most.
“Recently, as a delegate at an
international forum on education, we had proposed that telecommunication
companies around the world introduce such child oriented product which will aid
e-learning and protect children from harmful content on the internet. At that
time, there was no company doing that. I commend Etisalat for the introduction
of Cliqlite in Nigeria.”, she said.
According to Nnenna, “Cliqlite is an
edutainment gadget that every child should own in this age and time to keep up
with trends and learn in an enjoyable manner. Keeping children in class alone
has become boring these days.
“Rather than giving your child a
mobile phone or tablet without any restrictions, Etisalat Cliqlite is a better
option. I like all the applications and games that come pre-installed on it,
they are very educative and capable of helping every child improve in school
and vocabulary to help them better express themselves. Cliqlite really makes
learning fun” she explained.
One of the pupils in attendance, a
primary five pupils at Grace Children’s School, Gbagada who spoke at the
funfair put together to entertain children from more than six schools invited
to take part at the launch, Ebube Vincent said she liked the tablet because “it
is very easy for me to use, helps in education and fun to operate. Thanks to
Etisalat for developing this new package for us. No other network thinks about
children, it’s always about our parents and the adults” she said.
