Despite a ceasefire agreed upon with Boko Haram by the Nigerian government, the terrorist group is believed to have attacked 2 villages in Borno State on Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18.
Suspected members of the sect invaded the village of Abadam on Friday night leaving one person dead and the village of Dzur on Saturday morning leaving at least eight people dead, Reuters reports.
Nigeria reached the ceasefire agreement with Boko Haram yesterday, October 17 after negotiations which took place in Saudi Arabia.
The development was announced by Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh and has been confirmed by the Nigerian Defence Headquarters.
