5 die in Lagos-Ibadan expressway auto crash



NO fewer than five persons have died from fatal multiple vehicle accident occurred this morning along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The accident which happened around the Berger/Kara axis of the expressway was caused by a truck trying to avoid another parked on the road since last month.
According to reports, the accident was purportedly caused by a collision between a moving truck and a faulty truck, parked on the expressway. Vehicles involved in the accident were seriously damaged.
Saturday Vanguard learnt that the vehicle involved was a “mini-truck carrying labour hands to a building site”. A female survivor rushed to a hospital near 7up, and then to the Gbagada General Hospital, Lagos for further treatment.
As a result of the accident motorists were trapped in a traffic gridlock on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, as vehicles involved in the accident had caused a complete blockage on the road.
Luckily for the victim’s security agencies including the FRSC, Nigeria Police, Army arrived on time to salvage the situation.
